- 2 oz Rose hip oil
- 5 drops each Rose, Geranium, Jasmine and Frankincense oils

3. Face serum recipe with glycerin
This ultra hydrating face serum recipe is suitable for all skin types. The glycerin used in it acts as an emollient humectant that pulls water from the air and retains it in the skin. This keeps your skin ultra moisturized. Aloe vera gel hydrates the skin deeply and does not give your skin a greasy feeling. You can also add royal jelly to it but that can be a bit expensive to source.
- 2/3 cup pure Aloe gel
- 2 tbsp vegetable glycerin
- 3 drops of rose and lavender oil
Combine all ingredients and store them in a glass jar. Cap the lid tightly. To use: apply the serum all over the forehead, neck, cheeks and massage it in gently. This is an excellent serum to use at nighttime.
4. Skin lightening face serum (contains Sake)
Say sayonara to age spots and acne blemishes with this recipe! This serum contains sake, the secret ingredient (clearly not a secret anymore!) used by Japanese Geishas to whiten their faces. The sake works on hyper-pigmentation and age spots, lightening them considerably. The orange and lemon juices are high in ascorbic acid and citric acids which fade age spots, brighten the skin and also protect against potential damage.
- 1 oz unfiltered sake
- ½ ounce each freshly squeezed orange and lemon juices
In a glass bowl, mix all ingredients. Use a cotton ball to apply the mixture on the skin. Do not use on the eyes. You can also saturate a clean cotton cloth with the serum and place it on your skin for 10 minutes before washing off.
5. Vitamin C serum or gel
- ½ tsp Ascorbic acid powder
- 2 tsp distilled water and 2 tsp thickening agent such as xanthan gum, glycerin or agar agar flakes
Caution-Use very little thickening agent based on consistency you desire. This homemade vitamin C face serum is suitable for all skin types and works best for nighttime use.
